How to access captions
In Aotearoa New Zealand
In general, TV remote controls have a dedicated button to switch on captions, commonly labelled as STTL, SUBT, SUBT/CC or Subtitle. Menu Setup Options in some TVs can further allow users to change the font, colour, language and other caption related settings. The table below is a cross-section of TV makes and models with specific instructions. If this guide fails to cover your TV or device, we recommend searching the internet for a user manual.

Select a video that has subtitles. If there is a CC icon in the description of the movie or TV show, that video will have subtitles available

Tap on the Chromecast control bar at the bottom of the screen to expand the controls

Tap on the CC button on the bottom left hand corner of the screen

While the show is playing swipe down to reveal the info menu

Swipe right to highlight Subtitles and click to select

Swipe right to select English

Swipe Up to dismiss the menu
