Yesterday we were delighted to receive the Broadcasting Award at The New Zealand Captioning Awards 2014 in recognition of our efforts to caption real-time political debates during the 2014 general elections.
The Captioning Working Group, with membership from Deaf Aotearoa New Zealand, The Hearing Association New Zealand and The National Foundation for the Deaf, established the Captioning Awards to celebrate and recognise the work that individuals and organisations in New Zealand have done to increase accessibility to captioning across multiple environments.
Congratulations to the other award winners – Annabel and Helen Mackay, the NZ Police, Heartland Bank and Tony Eaton.
The Able team worked hard to provide captioning coverage for the 2014 general elections and additional political programming. You can check out our blog about our election captioning here.
